Notes: “When I saw the Replacements at the Roxy in Los Angeles (12-17-85), I had seen (and taped) them twice in New York - once was so drunkenly bad it was great (CBGB), and one was really pretty great (Irving Plaza), so I must admit that I was a bit scared when we saw Paul walking over to Dan Turner’s liquor store near the Roxy and then walking past all of us standing in line with what looked like a bottle of Jack Daniels in a paper bag - well, thankfully the ‘Mats must have all balanced their “inebriants” appropriately, because they came out blasting on all cylinders - once again I was kind of far over on the right side with the mic taped to the wall...” - Tapegeek

Fan Notes: One humorous moment that I recall from that show occurred when some audience member called out, “Tommy’s got a boner!” (As you know, the actual song title is ‘Gary’s Got A Boner’ from their album ‘Let It Be’.) Paul heard the shout, gave us a “He does?” look, and walked over to Tommy Stinson. He moved Tommy’s bass away to get a better look. I couldn’t tell if Tommy had a boner or not and Paul didn’t say.

Notes: The famous Peabody’s Down Under was previously located on the east bank of the Cuyahoga River in the Flats entertainment district. The former location was converted from warehouse space and originally opened as the Pirates Cove in the late 60’s. The business changed hands and Peabody’s was unveiled in May 1982.
