Notes: “I saw a lot of shows but the last one was at The Newport in Columbus Ohio. It was sold out but I bought a backstage pass from Johnny Rzeznik outside for 40 dollars. He told me not to go backstage or he’d get in trouble. I said okay because I just wanted to see the show. He wanted the pass back after I got in but I said no. For 40 bucks (which was a lot back then) I wanted a souvenir.” - Jim W.

ReplyDeleteI was a junior in high school and this is the FIRST concert my friend and I drove to (with no supervision) to attend. We drove over from Dayton.
The rest is history as they say with hundreds of concerts to follow from that point on...
